Luke Waltham, Thrive Delivery Worker
I was a volunteer at Making Space and was asked to participate in the Thrive mental wellbeing project. It was a great learning experience and helped me to share my creative skills with another group at Making Space. Since then, I have been helping to facilitate Thrive Arts and Craft sessions at Hive. It has been a wonderful experience and I have enjoyed meeting lots of different people. It makes me happy seeing people relaxed and being creative.
Amanda Smith, Thrive Volunteer
This is a course for people with Mental Health issues. It takes place every Friday 1pm – 3pm based on six sessions and activities that people can complete over the course of the year. The participants are not pressured to complete the activities and the atmosphere is very relaxed. We hope that people feel empowered to achieve these creative goals. We hope that after the six sessions people with feel able to move onto more independent courses and/or become a volunteer.
