This course is a great opportunity to learn Arabic calligraphy from scratch. Starter packs will be provided. No prior skills needed.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about some large and elegant cursive Arabic scripts used in medieval times on buildings and decorations.
you will learn:
- Basics of Arabic calligraphy
• Understanding materials (traditional & alternative tools)
• Step by step demonstration of individual letters ( how to write alphabets, dots, characters, shaping with the reed pen and brush.
• Understanding the importance of scaling & measuring Arabic letters in different scripts.
• Basic skills of modern calligraphy
• Use of Tashkeel (vowels & oranaments)
• Canvas back ground techniques
• Colour theory (colour mixing, formation & blending).
• Use of different art supplies (inks, acrylic paints & brushes etc)
• Use of palette knives
• How to write with gold/ silver leaf work and 3D effects
