You will receive clear step by step instructions exploring 3 different printmaking techniques:
• Screenprinting: Producing work that recognises methods of cutting stencils to produce screenprints. You can also bring something to print onto, e.g. a tote bag or a t-shirt.
• Lino cutting: Exploring how to design and produce lino prints, from simple one colour designs to reduction prints.
• Drypoint etching: Using Perspex as a surface to etch into, this is an extremely accessible printing technique to learn – as any image can be traced through the clear surface to produce delicate prints.
Various sources including the following books will be available: Learning Linocut – Susan Yeates, Printmaking & Mixed Media – Elisha Dorit, Linocut for artists & designers – Nick Morley, Handmade Prints – Desmet & Anderson, Print Workshop – Christine Scmidt.
Please wear closed toe shoes (no sandals). Bring an apron or wear an old shirt as the process gets a little messy.
