Pottery – Modelling the Figure (starts 09/03/21)

Start date:

9 March 2021

Start time:

18:00

We will start by looking at Giacometti’s wonderful animated stick figures and create our own using pipe cleaners or garden wire or even old coat hangers and tin foil. This is a wonderful way of making little figurative sculptures in a simple easy way.

Using other materials that you may collect or have at home such as clay, polymer clay, plasticine or even bakers clay you will be guided through modelling techniques to help show movement and emotion in your figures.

Here are some materials that you may need.
Pencil/pen and plain paper
Wire – this could be old wire coat hangers or garden wire or pipe cleaners
Tinfoil
Clay or polymer clay or plasticine or salt dough/bakers clay
Any materials you may have to hand to add colour such as paints/shoe polish
