We will have a lot of fun on this course exploring the face in clay!
These could be cartoon, abstract, cubist, well-worn or realistic faces you can decide! Bring a mirror as we will be pulling lots of expressions to help our modelling! Or you can bring images of faces printed from the internet or cut out from magazines.
Using a range of techniques, we will create our chosen faces building up the features to create the effect you want. This will be chance for you to be experimental and to try out different techniques before deciding on the final finish.
Here are some materials that you may need.
Please see the below ‘Home-made-clay-tools’ attachment for more examples of tools that would be useful, otherwise as long as you have something to cut the clay with, board, cloth for rolling out on (old pillowcase or tea towel will do), rolling pin, paint brush to get you started.

Any materials you may have to hand to add colour such as paints/shoe polish etc
