On this course you will learn to make work from a variety of still life subjects.
Learn and understand how composition, the principle of proportion and tonal values can improve your work.
Make drawings using pencil and explore how you can achieve painterly effects using charcoal and eraser.
There will be demonstration and constructive feedback during sessions, and we will look at the work made by other artists for inspiration and ideas.
This course is suitable for beginners as well as those who have experience, and you do not need to think you are “good at drawing” to join this course. There are many “tricks to the trade” that will be taught to enable you to achieve success in your work.
Materials you may need: You will need some pencils, willow charcoal, an eraser and cartridge paper (A3 or A4 or both). All easily bought online at relatively low cost or, if required, can be posted from Hive prior to/during the course.
