Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction 8 Week Course.
The course is an accredited program that has been running for many years. It’s an 8 week course.
In view of the current situation with Omicron we have taken the decision to offer this course via Zoom this term. We, at Hive, have Covid procedures in place to protect those who are attending our courses on site. However, we do understand that, for some people, this is not enough to make you feel safe.
Nicky has taught this course on Zoom several times during the pandemic and received great feedback. She is confident that you will get all the benefits of the course by attending from the safety of your own home. Although attending on Zoom is undoubtedly different to a face to face course, Nicky has found that the groups have worked really well online and that people have felt safe, supported and connected to their fellow participants despite not meeting in person.
In addition, keeping our classrooms well-ventilated in winter can make them rather chilly, so you may find it more comfortable and relaxing to participate from your own space.
And finally, if you are unfortunate enough to test positive during the course, it’ll mean that you don’t have to miss any sessions (if you feel well enough to attend) as you will be able to meet your fellow attendees in the safety of the virtual classroom.
Each class would be 2hrs long, once a week and you would learn more about mindfulness and the techniques that it involves. Many people find that mindfulness helps them cope better with anxiety, uncertainty and change (and we are certainly having plenty of all three of those at the moment).
