Traditional mindfulness practices have been shown to help to reduce stress, anxiety and depression when practiced regularly.
Creative activities are naturally mindful. They can help to focus your awareness in the present moment, taking you into a place of calm and stillness where all that exists is you and your work.
Join Nicky, our resident mindfulness teacher, to talk about your own creative process and how it can give you all the benefits of a regular mindfulness practice. If you’re struggling to fit creativity into your life, this will be a perfect opportunity to plan how that might change. If you already have a creative practice, take some time out to consider how well it meets your needs and make adjustments where necessary.
This class works well for any type of craft. You are asked to bring the tools of your trade and some raw materials with you. If it’s possible to bring along an ongoing project to work on during the session, that will be useful. Otherwise, a sketchbook and pencil will be the only other items you need.
The class will be taught outside, whatever the weather in the carpark at Hive, so attendees are asked to hope for sunshine but dress appropriately if that’s not what happens on the day. We are so excited to begin some face-to-face teaching and this class will make full use of our outdoor space to ensure we can work safely within Covid regulations and keep you safe.
Please note that if you are unable to book on this course due to it being fully subscribed, please contact [email protected] We can put you in touch with Nicky to arrange possible alternative arrangements.
