Follow instructions to make a cupboard with a hinged door and decorative detail, or bring along ideas of a project of your own you would like to complete.
An opportunity to recap and extend on the skills learned in Beginners woodwork, as well as learning new, more advanced woodworking techniques. The class will take you through, step by step, the making of a cupboard. Alternatively, if you have a project of your own you want to work on, bring in some sketches or ideas and we can help you make it.
Skills will include
• Joinery techniques (finger joints, housing joints and mortise and tenon joints)
• Cutting ( circular saw, band saw, tenon saws, coping saws)
• Routing
• Marquetry
• Accurate marking out
• accurate clamping and fixing
• Finishing techniques
You do not have to have completed the beginner’s class to join this class, if you have a little bit of experience working with wood then you are welcome!
