Please note that this course will take place at St. Peters Church, Moorhead Ln, Shipley BD18 4JH.
Gelli printing is a new and exciting form of mono-printing using a soft ‘jelly’ plate that allows you create beautiful monotype prints without the use of expensive equipment.
During the 10 weeks we will not only be focussing on the random nature of Gelli printing. We explore many different techniques using a variety of paints and drawing materials and experimentation with image transfer and collage to create depth. The Gelli printing process means that you never really know what you’ll get – which is very exciting, but you will also learn how to control some of the artistic process to create some original and interesting prints. |
About the Birklands Room (St Peters)
The new Birklands Room at St Peters church is perfect for all sorts of arts, crafts and textiles, it is a little less stocked with materials than the Birklands Room at Hive was, so take that into consideration when attending. We do recommend bringing and using a small notebook to keep a record of your work and ideas. You are welcome to bring your own equipment and materials but you will not be able to keep them at St Peters church.
You will be expected to follow Health and Safety guidance and our code of conduct whenever you use the Birklands Room.
