Woodwork Room

The Hive woodwork room is used to deliver courses including DIY, joinery and furniture restoration.   The courses are delivered by qualified woodworkers with many years of teaching experience.

We also offer a weekly supported woodwork group for older people.  This is free to attend but numbers are limited.  Please get in touch if you would like to join this group.

Hive members can access the workshop and work independently on their own projects when it isn’t in use for other activities. You will need to attend a brief safety induction course before using the drop in facility. The safetey induction is not required if you are planning on attending a woodwork course or supported group.

The workshop is fully equipped with woodworking machinery, such as a circular saw, planer, bandsaw and lathe.   There are hand tools available and a supply of basic items such as glues, abrasives, etc.  There is a small stock of donated and recycled wood which you are welcome to use in exchange for a donation.
