Beginners Stained Glass (Leaded Work)

Students will initially learn stained glass making from scratch, from cutting glass through to a complete leaded panel within a period of ten hours. Skills will be developed in safely cutting & grinding glass. Students will be encouraged to create their own designs based around the constraints of the glass medium & produce cartoons & working drawings based on their designs of no more than 10 to 15 glass pieces. Students will be given instruction in the safe use of tools needed in the stained glass process & particularly in the application of soldering. Completion of leaded panels will enable students to use leading cements, patinas & polishes.
